How It Started

Magic City Fashion Week (MCFW) was founded in 2017 by designer and visionary Daniel Grier as a disruptive response to the lack of platforms for emerging creatives in Birmingham, AL.

What began as a grassroots celebration of fashion has grown into a bold 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to cultivating talent, sparking cultural dialogue, and creating economic opportunity through the power of fashion. From day one, MCFW has centered marginalized voices, community storytelling, and fashion as a force for change.

How It's Going

Now entering Season VI, Magic City Fashion Week is thriving with a stronger infrastructure, a growing board of directors, and a committed team pushing boundaries across the fashion, arts, and education landscapes. With national recognition, expanded programming, and deeper community partnerships, MCFW is solidifying its place as one of the South’s most impactful fashion platforms.

The future is ours—and it's stitched with purpose.
