Beginner's Sewing Workshop Part II

Join us December 3, 2023 at the Magic City Acceptance Center for Part II of our beginners sewing workshop led by Sewing Instructor, Sonya Muhammad. 

This beginner's sewing workshop will guide participants on how to get started on the sewing machine. You can expect to learn how to thread the machine, get comfortable on the machine, how it works, and how to start simple projects like taking in pants, adding patches etc. This session participants will collectively make a tote bag by the end of the workshop.

For this workshop participants will need: 

• Sewing machine

• Thread

• Extra sewing machine needle

• Scissors

• ¾  yard of fabric (quilter’s cotton, denim, twill, or home dec)

• ½ yard of lining (quilter’s cotton)

• Straight pins

• Wax free tracing paper

• Tracing wheel

• Chalk pencil or chalk

We encourage you to bring your sewing machine if you own one to get familiar.
